Sudden Terror Surge Is a Calculated Move — Reno Omokri

A former advisor to the president, Reno Omokri, has claimed that the recent increase in terrorist attacks throughout Nigeria is not a coincidence but a planned operation, stating that the sequence of events indicates clear evidence of being organized.

Omokri stated this in a post on his X account on Friday, connecting the sharp rise in attacks to recent political developments and supposed efforts to promote an anti-Nigeria perspective.

He stated, “The sharp increase in terrorist activities following Peter Obi's visit to Washington, D.C., from September 23 to 25, which triggered a series of genocide allegations against Nigeria starting on September 26, 2025, is not accidental. These attacks are planned and aimed at accomplishing a particular anti-Nigerian goal.”

He mentioned that the same approach had been utilized prior to the 2015 parliamentary election.

As he stated, "These are the same strategies that desperate politicians and their international supporters employed against President Jonathan to bring about a regime change in 2015."

Omokri encouraged Nigerians to think deeply about the trend instead of responding with emotion.

He stated, "We are a highly emotional people who frequently express feelings instead of thinking logically. However, let us take a moment to calm our restless minds and think clearly."

In a study released by Channels Television last year, we noticed a reduction in terrorist actions in Nigeria. Suddenly, and as if from nowhere, they began to intensify just as local and global entities initiated a joint media campaign against Nigeria?

He also contended that attributing blame to the government without taking external factors into account aids those seeking to undermine the nation.

He stated, "Yes, the typical response from most of our individuals is to react with hostility, use offensive language, and demand a shift in leadership, but let us consider using our reasoning."

To emphasize his argument, he cited a famous saying, writing, “Once is chance, twice is coincidence, three times is enemy activity.”

Omokri highlighted recent events—such as school kidnappings, the murder of a General, strikes on churches, and attacks against law enforcement—as proof of an intentional trend.

He said, "Following a break in school kidnappings for more than a year, how can we now experience two school abductions, a General's death, a church assault during a live stream, and police officers being attacked or killed?"

He maintained that the events are too closely matched to be random. "This is too well-organized to be accidental."

Comparing with other countries, he cautioned about comparable methods of disruption.

"This is the strategy that worked in Libya and Sudan. Consider where those nations are now," he cautioned.

Omokri stated that the objective is to drive Nigeria into intense ethnic and religious strife, encouraging people to rally around President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The plan is not to lead us down the path of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger; it is to fully commit and turn Nigeria into a hub of sectarian and ethnic conflict. If we let this experiment result in Nigeria becoming the third in the sequence, we will surely regret it.

I call on all Nigerians to support the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and remain faithful citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Omokri also mentioned that certain demands for the President to step down are driven by political reasons.

He stated, "These demands for the President to step down are backed by foreign entities and their local agents. We have an election coming up in fourteen months. If you are unhappy with the present administration or believe they are to blame for this sudden rise in instability, hold off until then and use your democratic privileges."
