Outspoken political commentator Shadrack Orwa, widely known as Omosh One Hour, could not hide his excitement after briefly meeting President William Ruto in Nairobi.
The head of state was on a tour across the capital, inspecting key development projects and youth employment initiatives.
During one of his stops, Ruto, standing from the roof of his car, engaged with members of the crowd.
Omosh, who was among those gathered, drew the president’s attention, and the two exchanged a firm handshake and a few words.
The moment sparked interest, especially given Omosh’s previously vocal support for Raila Odinga and the Orange Democratic Movement party.

Was Omosh One Hour paid to support Ruto?
The aspiring politician rose to national prominence through his spirited contributions to Bunge la Wananchi and his fierce defence of opposition politics
However, cracks in that loyalty began to show earlier this year. In May, a viral video showed Omosh receiving KSh 30,000 from Calvince Gaucho, a supporter of Ruto.
Gaucho urged Omosh to focus on supporting leaders who can deliver and not those who offer nothing in return.
Omosh responded with a promise to rally behind the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Did Omosh One Hour dump ODM?
He admitted that while many in opposition circles were pushing to make Ruto a one-term president, ordinary citizens like him also needed jobs and economic opportunities, not just political rhetoric.

His loyalty, he said, came at a great personal cost of arrests, assaults and psychological distress. The breaking point came when he struggled to raise KSh 47,000 for his child’s emergency surgery.
Reaching out to party leaders yielded no help, and his manager confirmed that the silence from ODM left him feeling forgotten and betrayed.
Will Omosh One Hour vie in 2027?
Despite the heartbreak, Omosh is not quitting politics. He previously announced plans to run for the Karen Ward MCA seat in 2027.
With limited financial resources but high ambition, he said he would campaign on foot and prioritise local development, especially roads and social services.
The vocal commentator noted that time is ripe for the youth to take the helm of leadership in the country, promising change to Karen residents within his first 100 days in office.
