Colin McGrath informed okay1News NI that the publication was "an organization that has delivered news and local updates for the community, and people will truly miss that weekly update, but I believe it is a reflection of the current era."
"People are no longer buying newspapers. They are turning to the internet for their news, and I believe this means we lose a small part of our community each time these publications shut down," he said.
Nevertheless, he mentioned that there was "definitely a role for print media."
This will certainly be a setback for the employees who have only recently been informed about the situation.
It is among the oldest newspapers found on these islands, and it's truly unfortunate that this will no longer exist.
