The Benue State Government has clarified the situation concerning Governor Hyacinth Iormen Alia's recent remarks about the killings in the state, stating that the governor "did not deny the incidents in Benue and also did not downplay the impact of this unnecessary violence inflicted on innocent people."

In a statement issued on Friday by the Commissioner for Information & Orientation, Dr. Peter Oboh Egbodo, it was stated that it is concerning that troublemakers are intentionally distorting the Governor's remarks.
