On the 12th, the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform released 23,000 pages of emails obtained from the family of convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, who took his own life in August 2019. While the term "Trump" was mentioned roughly 1,500 times, there was no clear proof that President Donald Trump had sexual encounters with young women who were used by Epstein as sexual commodities.
Three emails shared by Democrats as "evidence" contained Epstein's statement that "I am the person who can bring down Trump," and "The one who has stayed quiet until now is Trump. The victim spent hours with Trump at my residence. Still, Trump's name was never brought up."
The "victim" mentioned here is Virginia Giuffre, who first worked at Trump's Florida resort, Mar-a-Lago, before being employed by Epstein and subsequently becoming a victim of sexual exploitation by influential individuals. She took her own life in April at the age of 41, and last month, her book *Nobody’s Girl*, which details her experiences of abuse and captivity after being hired as a "massage girl" by Epstein, was released.

In her book, Giuffre mentioned that she met Trump multiple times while working at Mar-a-Lago when she was 16 or 17, and described him as "very kind." During court filings made between 2019 and 2020, she also noted, "Trump was friends with Epstein, but he never behaved inappropriately towards me," and "He never sexually assaulted me."
Trump admits to having socialized with Epstein in the 1990s. Nevertheless, he states that he had no knowledge that Epstein facilitated sexual meetings with underage individuals, even during a time when "both of us were pursuing young women." He further mentioned, "Epstein recruited young female staff members from Mar-a-Lago, which caused tension between us, and we haven't spoken since 2004."

In a January 2019 email sent to a reporter, Epstein claimed, “Trump told Ghislaine to stop bringing the girls, so he clearly was aware of the victims.” Ghislaine Maxwell played a role in facilitating the sexual exploitation of women. Nevertheless, the Epstein email documents released on the 12th did not include definitive evidence showing that Trump sexually abused Giuffre or any other minors.
Nevertheless, Trump has actively obstructed the release of the so-called "Epstein files." He also tried to stop a bill that required the disclosure of all Epstein-related investigative documents from moving past committee review and going directly to a House floor vote, but he was unsuccessful. On the 12th, at least four Republican representatives supported the petition to bring the bill to the floor.
The Washington Post stated, "Even the MAGA (Make America Great Again) group, which consistently backed President Trump despite claims of him misusing his power to target political opponents and advance personal goals, is now calling for the complete disclosure of the Epstein documents, joining Democrats in this matter."
◇Trump Once Alleged That "A Democratic Government Hid Epstein's 'Client List'"
Trump played a major role in promoting conspiracy theories that claimed the U.S. federal government was concealing a list of well-known individuals who had sexual encounters with minors via Epstein.
In February 2015, during a speech at the CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference), Trump remarked about Bill Clinton, “He's a good person, but he's going to face significant issues because of Epstein's well-known island.” This suggested that Clinton was part of the group that participated in sexual abuse on Epstein's private island in the Caribbean.

Trump vowed to reveal and dismantle the "deep state" that is hiding Democratic left-wing elites linked to Epstein. Vice President J.D. Vance, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and FBI Director Kash Patel all committed to releasing all Epstein-related investigation documents before the 2024 election. Patel, until November of last year, consistently stated, "Trump needs to fully expose their corrupt activities."
The American online news platform Axios reported, “Supporters of MAGA who hold conspiracy beliefs anticipated that, following Trump's election, the sexual offenses committed by left-wing elites working with Epstein would come to light.” Democratic Representative Lo Kanna mentioned to the Washington Post, “Numerous MAGA supporters backed Trump because they thought he would eliminate the corrupt elites who had let down the American people and ruined the American Dream, even though Trump wasn't perfect.”
◇ Attorney General Withdraws Statement About "Sex Client List Being on Her Desk"
In February, Attorney General Pam Bondi mentioned, "Epstein's sex client list is on my desk," but by July, the U.S. Department of Justice withdrew this statement, claiming, "No such list exists." This led to increased conspiracy theories among the MAGA group.
Trump subsequently referred to the "client list" as a "fraud" and described his supporters who thought the government was concealing it as "naive/irrational." He also stated, "What has happened to my guys and my 'ladies'?" and advised them not to spend time and effort on "someone like Epstein who doesn't matter to anyone."
On July 24–25, a record of an interview with Ghislaine Maxwell, who was involved with Epstein, was made public. In the conversation with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanch, Maxwell mentioned, “During the time I knew him, Trump never acted improperly towards anyone. He was a gentleman in all respects.”
Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking, was moved a week later from a federal prison in Florida to a low-security women's facility in Texas. On the 9th, a Democratic representative disclosed, "Maxwell is seeking a pardon from Trump and is being given special privileges, such as private meetings, extended access to computers, and tailored meals."
On the 13th, Karoline Leavitt, a spokesperson for the White House, stated, “As President Trump has often mentioned, the president has not talked about granting a pardon to Maxwell and is not thinking about it.”
Democrats anticipate that if the legislation requiring the disclosure of all Epstein-related documents is brought to a vote in the House, over 50 Republicans may break ranks and back it. They claim that because several of the women Epstein victimized resolved their cases through non-disclosure agreements, certain details remain hidden, and all investigative records should be released publicly.
The Washington Post stated, “Should the disclosure bill fail, the MAGA group will reinforce their longstanding view that 'the establishment elite follows different rules.'"
Axios referred to the Epstein documents as a "self-created crisis by President Trump," stating, "Trump instantly reacts to any perceived criticism—be it regarding inflation, the 2019 COVID-19 outbreak, or Russian involvement in the 2016 election—by labeling it a 'hoax' or 'fraud,' entering a confrontational stance and reacting aggressively, causing even his closest advisors to hesitate before bringing up the matter."
