The former Deputy Governor of Osun State and previous National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Iyiola Omisore, is the first candidate seeking the governorship to submit the APC's N50m Nomination and Interest Expression forms for the 2026 state election.

Governor Ademola Adeleke, aiming for a second term, has recently downplayed concerns about internal divisions within the PDP, stating he is still "on track for victory."

The National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, revealed this in a statement released in August.

"Individuals listed on the Register and who have paid their membership fees in full for the past year, up to February 2025, will be qualified to vote and to be nominated," the statement said.

The party mentioned that the distribution of forms started on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, with the submission of completed forms and delegate lists anticipated by December 1, 2025.
