President William Ruto has expressed sorrow over the passing of the Member of Parliament for Isiolo South Constituency, Tubi Bidu.
MP Bidu passed away on Wednesday, November 12, while undergoing treatment at Nairobi Hospital.
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula, announced the legislator's passing, calling it a significant loss for Parliament and the country.
In a post on X, Ruto praised MP Bidu for his dedication to improving the lives of his voters and promoting progress.
"I have learned with great sadness about the passing of Hon. Mohamed Tubi, the MP for Isiolo South. On behalf of the government and the people of Kenya, I offer my sincere condolences to his family, friends, and the people of Isiolo South. Hon. Tubi will be remembered as a committed public official and a strong supporter of education, who believed in uplifting communities through knowledge and opportunities," he said.
His dedication to improving the lives of his voters and promoting growth in Isiolo represents a lasting mark of his leadership. May the Almighty God grant his soul eternal peace and provide comfort to his family during this challenging period.
Throughout his life, Tubi Bidu remained a member of the Departmental Committee for Environment, Forestry, and Mining, as well as the Public Petitions Committee.
He was in his first term within the National Assembly. Prior to entering Parliament, he served as the first Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly, a role he maintained until 2017.
As the House grieves his loss, Speaker Wetang’ula honored the late MP's commitment and contributions.
"In the face of this significant loss, let us recall Tubi for his outstanding contributions and the beneficial influence he brought to our country. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, supporters, and everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. May his soul find lasting peace," he stated.
Isiolo Governor Abdi Hassan Guyo expressed his sorrow over the MP, describing him as a moral and brave leader who remained firm in his beliefs.
Governor Guyo stated that the Legislator was consistently driven by a strong wish to improve the lives of his voters and promote harmony throughout the county.
Expressing deep sorrow over the death of Hon. Mohamed Tubi Bidu, a Member of Parliament for Isiolo South, who passed away this evening at Nairobi Hospital, Guyo stated. Hon. Tubi had previously served outstandingly as the first Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly, establishing a solid base for the development of our devolved governance system.
The loss of him is deeply felt not only by Isiolo South but also by the whole Isiolo community and the country as a whole. My sincere condolences go to his family, friends, and the people of Isiolo South during this challenging period. Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale described MP Tubi as a revered elder and a devoted leader who showed dedication and humility in serving his community.

Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen expressed sorrow over the MP, who was seen as a key figure in the ongoing initiatives to foster peace and stability.
