On Saturday, November 8, 2025, the most promising young talents from Africa came together at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos for the 19th installment of The Future Awards Africa.
It was an unforgettable evening when the most courageous and prominent individuals shaping Africa's future were recognized for their achievements in various fields.
Centered around the theme "Threads of Legacy," the event was a dazzling and celebrity-filled celebration from the red carpet to the stage. This year's gathering was expertly hosted by the appealing team of Nollywood actor Mike Afolarin and media personalityAzeezah Hashim, the first-ever East African host, who captivated the audience with their natural humor, charisma, and dynamic stage presence.
They led participants through an evening of joy and contemplation, highlighting the narratives and successes of individuals defining Africa's future.
On the red carpet, former Big Brother Naija contestant, Sabrina Idukpaye, showcased her unique style during the event alongside her red carpet co-hosts, Desmond Ekunwe and Adaeze Aduaka.
The group brought the night to life with a powerful vibe, greeting attendees, posing sincere questions, and recording the most impressive moments of the evening. On the red carpet were also singers Savy Henry and Naomi Mac, who entertained arriving guests with charming songs to kick off the night.
Enhancing the night's creativity and style was the first-ever live podcast session on the red carpet, led by Lynda Aguocha, a creative entrepreneur and host of the CreativiTea podcast.

The TFAA this year surpassed the typical festivities, as it marked the debut of the performing arts category. The honor was bestowed upon the cherished hype man Olugbesan Olatubosun (Big Bimi), signifying the first time hype culture received recognition at an awards ceremony and heralding a transformation for the art form, which has now become essential to African celebrations.
The elegant night also included a special homage to the cherished radio host and on-air figure, Dan Foster. This was succeeded by heartfelt performances from some of Africa's most prominent artists who have consistently been featured on the airwaves.
Faze and Ruggedman, two legends in Nigerian music, gave memorable and lively shows that had the audience singing to popular songs from the early 2000s.
Zadok, one of Nigeria's most talented performers, captivated the crowd with his show, while Dwin The Stoic, a writer and poet, entertained them with heartfelt songs, and Dotti the Deity ended the evening with a fervent performance that effectively matched the night's emotional peaks.
Some of the major winners of the evening included Tomike Adeoye, Fola David, and Mariam Apaokagi (Taoma), who each received accolades in the Entrepreneurship, Young Person of the Year, and Content Creation categories.
This year's gathering was enthusiastically supported by prominent Nigerian companies Knorr and Amstel Malta, whose involvement was clearly visible throughout the event, providing sustenance and refreshment to participants.
