I felt quite anxious on the first day, but now I am much more relaxed and comfortable.

Kai Trump, 18, the granddaughter of former U.S. President Donald Trump, demonstrated better results in the second round of her LPGA tournament debut. She ended with a score of 5-over-par 75, which was eight strokes improved from her first round, where she faced difficulties with a 13-over-par 83.

When questioned, "What has changed?" she responded, "I was nervous in the first round, but today I remained composed and performed better."

Kai Trump achieved four birdies, four bogeys, one double bogey, and one triple bogey during the second round of the LPGA Tour's 'Annika Driven by Gainbridge' event (held at Florida Belleair Pelican GC, which is a par-70 course) on the 15th. This represented a notable enhancement compared to her performance in the first round, where she recorded nine bogeys and two double bogeys.

She finished with a total of 18-over-par, placing her 108th among 108 competitors and missing the cut. Nevertheless, her second-round score was not the worst, as five other players, including Japan's Hinako Shibuno (tied for 95th) and American Lillia Vu (tied for 104th), also recorded a 5-over-par 75. Switzerland's Morgane Métraux (tied for 86th) had a 6-over-par 76. If only considering the second round, Kai would have been tied for 103rd.

Kai earned her first birdie of the competition on the 3rd hole, a par-3, after hitting her tee shot within 2 meters of the hole. She also recorded a birdie on the 7th hole, a par-4, by accurately landing her second shot on the green, demonstrating strong performance.

At the 140-yard par-3 hole number 12, she almost achieved her first career hole-in-one using an 8-iron. “I attempted a controlled draw to prevent the wind from lifting it too much, and it turned out well,” she mentioned.

On the last hole, she hit her second shot with a 3-wood about 2.4 meters from the hole, setting up a chance for a birdie. Although she ended with a two-putt par, she was happy with how things went.

Linn Grant from Sweden and Grace Kim from Australia both had the lead, with Grant scoring a 7-under-par 63 in the second round and Kim placing second after the first round (both at 9-under-par). Ryu Hae-ran, who led after the first round, dropped to a tie for third, one stroke behind. Other Korean players, including Yuna Yoon and Hyejin Choi, were tied for 21st at 3-under-par.

Nelly Korda (U.S.), the top-ranked player and previous champion, faced challenges with a 1-over-par 71 in the opening round, but improved her performance by seven strokes in the second round, finishing tied for 6th at 6-under-par, and is now competing for the title. Korda, who claimed seven titles last year, has not yet won any event this season.

Kai Trump, the daughter of Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of President Trump, is an amateur high school golfer based in Florida who entered this tournament through a sponsor's "special invitation."

The organizers revealed towards the end of last month, "Kai Trump, the granddaughter of U.S. Presidents Donald Trump (45th and 47th), will participate as a sponsor's invitee. She is a player who has the potential to grow the golf fan base." The LPGA stated, "Her large following and impact will assist in drawing younger fans to the sport."
