However, it was Donald Trump's recently launched second project in Balmedie that earned genuine recognition with three top honors at the annual World Golf Awards.
Trump International Golf Links, located in Balmedie, achieved a remarkable three-peat, winning awards such as World's Best Golf Course 2025, World's Best Contribution to Golf Tourism Hospitality, and World's Best New Golf Course 2025.
The triumph occurred just a few months following the resort's New Course being introduced in July adjacent to the original championship greens.
Unveiled in 2012, the courses are well-known for their expansive vistas of the North Sea and the undulating sand hills.
A part of Trump Scotland, the resort has already established a strong reputation, having ranked first on Golfweek’s Top 50 Modern Courses in Great Britain and Ireland in 2021 and winning the title of Scotland’s Best Golf Course at the World Golf Awards that same year.
The renowned yearly awards are selected by experts, media personnel, and golf fans worldwide to honor excellence in the sport.
After securing three awards in a row, President Trump stated: "It's a great honor to receive such a prestigious recognition from the highly respected World Golf Awards."

Eric Trump, the son of the President and executive vice president of the Trump Organization — which manages Trump Scotland — joined his father at the ribbon-cutting event for Trump International's New Course in July.

The President has Scottish heritage, as his mother, Mary Anne MacLeod, was originally from the village of Tong on the Isle of Lewis, and later moved to the United States in 1930 to work as a domestic helper.
Six years later, at the age of 25, she wed property developer Frederick Trump, the son of German immigrants.
This year, plans were revealed for a memorial garden dedicated to the mother of five at the Balmedie resort.
