The Star Person of the Year Award is currently accepting nominations. You have the option to submit nominations for one or multiple individuals. The deadline for submissions is November 30.
Steps to nominate:
1. Access the online form by clicking the nomination link using your phone, desktop, or laptop.
2. Input the complete name of the individual you are proposing.
3. Specify if they are affiliated with an organization or institution? If yes, state the name of the organization?
4. Clearly explain the reasons for your nomination. Highlight their specific accomplishments and the effect they have made.
4. Offer additional resources. Please provide links to social media profiles, project pages, or any examples of their work.
5. Carefully check all information, then proceed to submit the form.
Keep in mind, you can select as many individuals as you like.
What the panel members will be focusing on
Since 2018, The Star has been acknowledging Kenyans who have brought about a noticeable positive impact through their work. The Star Person of the Year Award celebrates commitment, leadership, perseverance, and contributions towards the country's development.
The selection committee will review entries to identify candidates whose efforts demonstrate distinct, ongoing, and quantifiable influence.
Judges will focus on those who have brought about beneficial transformations and enhanced the well-being of communities.
More specifically, the committee will seek candidates who fulfill at least one of the following criteria:
i. Individuals dedicated to improving Kenya or their local community as a more favorable environment for living and working.
ii. People who have significantly assisted, motivated, or brought prestige to Kenya.
iii. Pioneers who have developed innovations that have significantly transformed lives.
iv. Individuals with honesty who have opposed unchecked power and advocated for proper administration.
v. Individuals who have contributed to reducing poverty or who advocate for environmental causes.
The panel will assess the candidates prior to choosing the final recipient. The victor will be the candidate with the highest number of nominations once the voting process is completed.
Each year, the award has recognized a wide array of innovators, including government officials and healthcare professionals on the front lines, as well as leaders and ordinary people.
The champion of 2025 will be announced a few days prior to Christmas.

2023:Faith Kipyegon, a renowned long-distance runner, was recognized for her groundbreaking accomplishments in the world of sports.
2024:Kenya's Generation Z was acknowledged for their impactful voices and advocacy during a significant national event.
