Bryan White Faces Charges in Ritual Sacrifice Case, Wife Jailed

Key Information:
- The prosecution claims that on October 22, 2025, in the Kyamula Zone of Makindye Division, Bryan White murdered Carol Nalubwama with the intention of carrying out or advancing witchcraft, rituals, or other illegal activities, in violation of the Prevention and Prohibition of Human Sacrifice Act.
The judge sent them to Luzira Prison until December 18, 2025, when the case will be reviewed again by Chief Magistrate Sarah Basemera for the official presentation of the charges.
"The individuals charged are now ordered to remain in custody until December 18, 2025, when they will be brought before the Chief Magistrate for a case update," stated Ms Nakawuki.
As per the indictment, the accused are charged with a minimum of seven offenses, including human sacrifice, causing death, reckless and negligent behavior, carrying illegal drugs, plotting to commit a crime, and providing misleading details to law enforcement.
The prosecution claims that on October 22, 2025, in Kyamula Zone within Makindye Division, Bryan White murdered Carol Nalubwama with the intention of carrying out or advancing witchcraft, rituals, or other illegal activities, in violation of the Prevention and Prohibition of Human Sacrifice Act.
In a different charge, Kirumira is facing accusations of manslaughter, with the government claiming that between October 22 and 27, 2025, he illegally caused Nalubwama's death by setting her on fire and then moving her to Kiruddu Hospital, where she died from her injuries.
He is also facing a single charge of reckless and negligent behavior, following allegations that he did not take necessary precautions against potential hazards posed by flammable substances in his possession. Additionally, he is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, as police reportedly found its leaves and seeds in bottles at his home.
Nalunga, Abaho, and Nakato were collectively accused of plotting to commit a crime. The state claims that the three conspired with Kirumira on October 22, 2025, to perform a ritualistic killing by burning candle wax while massaging Nalubwama's body with gasoline and ghee as they collected honey.
The three, along with Kirumira, are also accused of providing false information to police officers at Mildmay Uganda Hospital, Katwe Police Station, and the Kampala Metropolitan South Headquarters. They are said to have misled the authorities by stating that Nalubwama was burned on October 27, 2025, and taken to Kiruddu Hospital, while evidence shows she was burned on October 22 and initially treated at M. Mabirizi Nursing Home.
A different suspect, Joyce Irene Nambalirwa, 41 years old, works as an administrator at M. Mabirizi Nursing Home located on Salama Road, and has been independently charged with manslaughter and causing death due to reckless and negligent behavior.
The prosecution claims that from October 22 to 27, 2025, Nambalirwa illegally resulted in Nalubwama's death by not sending her to a primary hospital for more sophisticated care and by improperly managing her health issue, which supposedly deteriorated and caused her demise.
Police inquiries suggest that Nalubwama passed away at Kiruddu Hospital following serious burn injuries received at Kirumira's residence. According to reports, Kirumira informed investigators that the burns resulted from a gas cylinder explosion while she was preparing a meal.
Nevertheless, relatives of the deceased challenged this account, blaming Kirumira for improper actions and claiming that Nalubwama's death was connected to a ritual.
Her father, Ssalongo Tom Mutyaba, reportedly informed the police that Kirumira personally called to notify him of his daughter's death, stating she had passed away during treatment at a shrine.
Investigators who subsequently went to Kirumira's home are said to have discovered thatched-roof buildings believed to be sacred sites inside the property.
The courtroom stayed tense while the visual details of the claimed ritual murder were announced.
