John Fettermanhas been taken to the hospital with a critical heart condition following a fall this morning.

The PennsylvaniaSenator was taking a walk early Thursday when he "fell near his home in Braddock," theDemocrat's spokesperson stated. 

Fetterman was taken to a hospital in Pittsburgh. after the accident, where physicians concluded he experienced a ventricular flare-up, his team stated.

A sudden episode of an irregular heartbeat, known as a ventricular arrhythmia, is referred to as a ventricular flare-up in this situation, which may result in abrupt cardiac arrest and the heart's inability to pump blood properly.

The health-related incident led to the 56-year-old lawmaker to experience dizziness and collapse to the floor, 'suffering a facial injury,' the representative stated.

After the event, Fetterman made a playful statement and seemed to be in high spirits.

"if you thought my face looked terrible earlier, wait until you see it now!" he said.

His most recent health concern follows his disclosure of thinking about quitting politics after a frightening stroke in 2022.

In his book Unfettered, Fettermanprovided the public with a view of his private life and medical challenges. 

He shared details about the health emergency that almost disrupted his 2022 campaign and spoke openly about his struggle with depression for the first time, according to an exclusive passage released by The Free Press.

Fetterman experienced a stroke only a few days prior to the Democratic primary election.

Gisele, his wife, noticed the warning signals and quickly took him to the hospital, where medical professionals extracted a dangerous blood clot and subsequently installed a pacemaker.

Although he endured and secured the primary victory, the stroke resulted in challenges with processing sounds.

The senator continued his general election campaign against Republican Mehmet Oz despite his health issues.

But over three years later, in his autobiography, he remarked: 'Looking back, I should have left.'

Fetterman has experienced significant media attention and personal criticisms regarding his health, which he claims led to serious depression.

In "Unfettered," he connects these challenges to more profound psychological injuries resulting from being born to young parents, which he claims caused lasting sensations of shame and insecurity throughout his life.

Fetterman stated: "There was a time when I was in bed, and I asked myself, what would you do if there was a pill on the nightstand that you could take and never wake up? I would have taken it."

Throughout the campaign, his mental state deteriorated, particularly following a poorly conducted debate that led to widespread ridicule.

He was overwhelmed by self-disgust and thoughts of suicide, as described in the memoir.

His challenges persisted even after he secured the general election with a five-point margin and performed better than President Biden in most counties.

His triumph offered no comfort. He remained confined to his bed for months, emotionally distant, and incapable of carrying out daily tasks.

By early 2023, he was alone, consuming very little food or rest, and eventually went to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. There, he was found to have serious depression that worsened his physical condition.

At Walter Reed, he gradually started to recover through therapy and reading. A young therapist's reminder, expressed with a straightforward phrase — 'Children need their daddy' — marked a pivotal moment, reigniting his desire to live and reconnect with his family.

The support and affection from his three children eventually led him back home after 44 days.

This year, Fetterman spoke openly aboutovercoming both a stroke and feelings of suicidal depressionwhile holding the position of a US senator.

He admitted that prejudice and political opposition remain, particularly concerning his independent views; nevertheless, he has drawn resilience from his family and embracing himself.

His communication to those facing depression is evident: healing takes time, love is crucial, and enduring - even if weak - is achievable.
