A 16-year-old male died after falling from aUtaha utility tower at the exact location where another teenager died under remarkably similar conditions almost two decades prior.
A teenager who remains unidentified fell approximately 60 feet from a Rocky Mountain Power facility in Fruit Heights, located about 25 miles from Salt Lake City, on Monday evening, as reported by the Davis County Sheriff's Office.
A group of teenagers called 911 after the boy climbed the tower and fell, said spokeswoman Stephanie Dinsmore.KSL.
"It seems like a group of people, a group of teenagers, who came out last night to enjoy the scenery, when one of them climbed the tower," Dinsmore said.
She stated that upon the arrival of emergency personnel at the location, it seemed the boy had suffered an electric shock.
"Deputies arrived and found the teenager with serious burns that matched those from an electric shock, along with injuries caused by the fall," Dinsmore stated.
He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he eventually succumbed to his wounds.
The young boy fell from the same tower that 15-year-old Scott Nye had ascended and was shocked by prior to falling and dying in 2007.

Nye's mother, Valerie, told Fox 13that her family chose not to comment on the recent event in consideration for the teenager's family.
"Our thoughts are with the boy's family and with his friends who were with him," she said.
Please be aware of our love, empathy, and care. It was truly an accident, and it's deeply upsetting.
A commemorative plaque for Nye can be found at the utility tower, with signs stating 'Keep Off' and cautioning about high voltage installed in the surrounding area.
Authorities from the Davis School District verified that the victim was a student at Layton High School.
"It is with great sadness that we let you know one of our Layton High School students passed away in a tragic incident last night," said principal Brock Jackman in a statement obtained byKUTV.
We are profoundly distressed by the passing and extend our sympathies to the family and loved ones.
The teenager's old classmates, Tristen Hann and Max Moore, characterized him as 'very humorous' and 'imaginative.'

'We introduced a few flowers along with some Monsters [energy drinks] for him since he had a fondness for his Monsters,' Hann mentioned.
Residents of the community have demanded stronger safety protocols near the tower, arguing that both fatalities might have been avoided.
"To me, at 18 years old, it's just been here, waiting for another accident to occur without any safety measures," said Anya Higley, whose daughter knew the boy who died on Monday, according to the local news station.
I truly believe that this accident should not have occurred last night. If additional precautions had been taken to safeguard children, I would say, especially considering that someone lost their life here, a 15-year-old, 18 years ago; and there are no lights, nor is there a fence.
There's a very small sign up there that I can't even see from here in the dark. Like, this is such a busy road, and it's not visible.
