The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, mentioned that the President Bola Tinubu government has invested considerably in enhancing Nigeria's security system and implemented new strategies to fight terrorism and extreme violence.
The official revealed this information in Abuja on Thursday during the 5th National Advertising Conference 2025, which took place at the Abuja Continental Hotel, under the theme "Marketing Communication: Transforming Business and Creating Growth in Challenging Times."
Idris, the main host of the event, praised the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and its Director General, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, for maintaining the conference as a leading venue for innovation, discussion, and career growth within Nigeria's marketing and communication sector.
Discussing national matters, the Minister stated that the Federal Government has introduced innovative concepts and new viewpoints in the battle against terrorism, highlighting that recent military achievements demonstrated President Tinubu's determination to bring back peace and stability throughout the nation.
"We have made substantial investments in enhancing our security framework, restructuring the command and control system, and introducing fresh concepts in the fight against terrorism. Just yesterday, the Chief of Army Staff updated the President on notable progress achieved in recent days, reiterating our shared commitment to protect every part of our nation," Idris stated.

He maintained that terrorism and instability do not focus on any specific religion or community, emphasizing that both Christians and Muslims have experienced the threat equally.
"The story of Nigeria violating religious freedom is untrue. It misrepresents our reality as a varied country where people have lived in harmony for many years," he stated.
Idris encouraged marketing and communication experts to leverage their channels to showcase Nigeria's authentic portrayal, fight false information, and encourage solidarity and national pride.
When misleading stories are circulated, it is your imagination and ability to tell stories that can offset them with truth and inspiring tales of hope and advancement. We require a revival in communication that focuses on facts rather than fear, unity instead of division, and truth over propaganda," he said to the attendees. "he said to the attendees.
He pledged that his department will keep collaborating with ARCON and other relevant parties to ensure that Nigeria's advertising and marketing communication sector functions within a controlled yet supportive framework.
He also emphasized the National Values Charter Framework being introduced by the Ministry to revive national values such as truth, honesty, and loyalty.
In his opening speech, ARCON Director General, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, referred to the conference as an essential platform for creativity and partnership, especially during a period when technology and evolving customer habits are transforming the worldwide marketing scene.
"Current market algorithms are evolving at an unprecedented pace, and capturing consumer insights is becoming increasingly difficult. This conference offers us a chance to rethink how communication can enhance not only brand value but also business stability and long-term growth," Fadolapo stated.
He urged attendees to acquire knowledge, build connections, and create approaches that will elevate Nigeria's advertising and marketing sector for sustained growth.
The 2025 National Advertising Conference unites experts from the fields of advertising, media, marketing, education, government, and the private sector to examine emerging trends, exchange insights, and debate the future of communication and business development in Nigeria.
