A woman from Kisumu is experiencing deep pain and grief after the untimely passing of her 23-year-old daughter, Cecilia Achieng, who died tragically following a visit to a friend's home.

Achieng passed away only three months following her graduation from Mount Kenya University, and she was the guiding light for her family, according to her heartbroken mother.
As per her mother's account, the young woman was a compassionate and affectionate daughter who had vowed to construct a home for her, enabling her to enjoy a more prosperous life.
She was my youngest child, who cherished everyone. She was independent and disliked seeing anyone in pain. She was extremely kind to all and full of potential. I recall she had promised me, saying, "Mom, just wait and let me finish school. I will build you a beautiful house," the mother said with deep sorrow.
How did Cecilia Achieng pass away?
The young woman passed away soon after requesting to exit a taxi that her friends had called for her to return home in.
It was approximately midnight when Nairobi-based online taxi driver Patrick Muthami got a request to collect a passenger.
He traveled to the meeting spot in Ruiru, Kiambu county, where the client, named Ronald, instructed him to wait for two women, but mentioned that only one of them was going to Juja, her residence.
A short time later, the two—Achieng' and her friend Sally—arrived, seemingly under the influence of alcohol.
When he began the journey, the taxi driver mentioned that Achieng became disruptive and asked to be dropped off.
He contacted Ronald once more to let him know that Achieng wished to return to his residence.
"Ronald wanted to speak to the young woman, who was unpredictable over the phone, but she declined. He then told me to let Achieng go, stating she wasn't a child and was fully aware of what she was doing, before hanging up," Muthami said.
The taxi driver let her exit the vehicle, and she stated she would locate her way back to Ronald's residence.
Regrettably, as she was walking back, she was fatally struck by a moving vehicle and passed away.
